Pictures from the Plastic Exhibition at Eyedrum Music and Art Gallery

Do you have art cred? Is art the next bubble or a new establishment? Consider this and more at PLASTIC, the very LAST exhibition in the current location for Eyedrum Art & Music.

PLASTIC is an exhibition of work on, of or about plastic curated by Jonathan Dye and Mandie Turner Mitchell. The opening reception is a performance art event brought to you by Twinhead Theatres. Join us as we examine plastic materials and plastic society all in one.

You'll need your Eyedrum art credit score before you are allowed to enter. Come Saturday night and find out if you have what it takes to make it to the Silver, Gold, Platinum or coveted Black gallery. If your score is low, no worries. Our creditors give you as many chances as you need. You can consolidate your art viewing debt until you see it all. (Oh and you will want to see it all.) Check here online for the link to get pre-approved. Purchase or renew an Eyedrum membership Saturday night and get an all access pass to all four galleries.

Dasboard present: FRESH MEAT
DASHBOARD CO-OP Presents

Fresh Meat: Filets, Strips and Other Marbled Delights, a FREE group art exhibition on July 24 at The Goat Farm in Atlanta. The show will feature new and diverse works from the organization’s second round of selected artists, including Plastic Aztecs, Christian Gordy, Kerry Jones,
Romy Maloon, NImer Aleck II, The $tatus Faction and Dave Batterman.

What is DASHBOARD CO-OP?

Founded in February 2010, Dashboard Co-Op empowers emerging artists by providing them with lucrative and creative opportunities. The organization hosts group exhibitions to sell work to local and regional collectors—artists keep 100% of any and all profits. Dashboard launched its virtual gallery with 12 Atlanta and New York-based artists, including Paper Twins, Baxter Crane, Jason Travis and Erica Wilson.

In an effort to provide a platform for artists whose work might not fit in traditional gallery settings, Dashboard accepts submissions on a rolling basis and announces those selected every three months. Learn more here.

Spring Break Horns

Though these were conceived almost a year ago, they have just now come to fruition. During Spring Break of 09’ a large group of my best friends from Atlanta came to visit me in Sarasota, Fl. During that time everyone (both Atl and Sarasota friends) doodled all over these horns. I preserved these drawings by wood burning them and mounting them. I completed it by adding the Spring Break title in cheesy curly cue font.

“SRQ, 09 Relic”
